Class Policy

A deposit, determined by each class, is required when you sign up for a class. If you call to sign up, a credit card number is needed. This is non-refundable unless you cancel 48 hours before the class or if we cancel the class. If class is cancelled and you paid, we will give you your deposit as credit in the store or as a refund. Classes may be cancelled if we have less than the required number of students signed up for the class. Cancellation may be required due to weather conditions. If you bring additional people to sit in on class, they too must pay the class fee. Unless a class is specified as a children’s class, no children are permitted in class without the teacher’s permission.

Guide Classes

If you have purchased a sewing machine, serger, or software and have not had your guide classes, call Robin’s. These are instructional guide classes for you to learn all aspects of the machine or software. If your machine or software was purchased at Robin’s, there is no fee. We give you more lessons on the machine than any dealer. Please be patient with us and understand that if you cannot join a class at a given time that class will not be repeated for three months because of the number of classes in a session. We do want you to get the classes and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Attention: New Guide Class Format

We have recently revisited our guide class format and decided that we needed to revise the classes. Over the years, many of you have moved from one level of machine to another. With each level, some of the guide class information is repeated. For example, using a #10 foot remains the same regardless of the machine. Therefore we will structure the classes as follows: We will still offer embroidery first. The sewing classes will be comprised of the features and functions of the machine only. After that section is finished, we will offer Feetures Classes which will cover the use of most of the feet, including the new feet. At this point students can elect to only come to sessions that cover feet with which they are unfamiliar, or they can come to all of them if they choose. We know your time is valuable and we do not want you to feel that you have to come to a class that you don’t need. If you have any questions about this format, you may call Julie at 481-3786 or Robin’s at 985-4212. Remember, if you are waiting for classes and have not been called, let us know. We have called a large number of people for fall classes, left messages, and have not had responses. We cannot help you get the most out of your machine if you do not let us know that you are waiting or return our calls.
