|Elizabeth © Pleated Bodice Dress by Trisha Smith
This dress features a technique known as Origami which is the art of Japanese paper folding. The bodice is created with precisely stitched tucks that are then pinched and tacked together to create a diamond shape. Hand embroidery accents the center of each diamond shape for a lovely effect. The tacking stitches that created the tucks are covered with bullion embroidery stitches adding additional color and interest to the dress. The sleeveless dress buttons down the back and has a V-neck shape back bodice. Corded piping and a contrasting band for the hem complete the look. This dress is available in sizes 4 – 10 and students will receive the pattern in all sizes.
